Fancy a cut-price trip to Asia? Then you should consider a courier flight. The concept is simple. You carry important documents on behalf of a company in return for a discounted air ticket. The number of opportunities on flights to and from the UK has been scaled back in recent years, but British Airways (BA) still offers two courier seats a day from London to Tokyo and one from London to Bangkok. Most come at around 30 to 40 per cent off the full fare, but a handful are free.

If you are a lifeguard or surgeon - look out, your car insurance could be about to get more expensive, because according to a new survey, these are the professionals most likely to cause a crash. Astrologers and, surprise surprise, driving instructors, are among those least likely to cause accidents, the research by moneysupermarket.com found. Richard Mason, of moneysupermarket.com, said: "If there is any logic to it, astrologers, watchmakers and chimney sweeps should be paying a lot less than systems analysts, insurance inspectors and statisticians."
