Don't miss these online shopping deadlines

The beginning of this week was dubbed ‘Mega Monday’, after internet stores saw unprecendented levels of shoppers logging on to buy Christmas presents and paraphernalia.

If the prospect of sharp-elbowed shoppers grabbing at Mamma Mia DVDs turns you into a scrooge, why not join the masses online? Just make sure you don’t miss the final order dates for Christmas deliveries. Here are a few to put in your diary.

For super saver delivery order by Thursday December 18 (free on orders over £5.00).

For first class, order by Saturday December 20 (delivery rates vary).

For express delivery, order by 1pm Tuesday December 23 (£8.80).

Also worth checking are the cashback sites like FroggyBank.co.uk that give you all of their commission back on your purchases from loads of big online stores when you buy through them.

As a former employee of one of the above (answering telephones), may I make a request. Please don't get angry with people on the phones if your gifts arrive late. Delays happen and it's not our fault if you leave it to the last minute.

My friend ordered the friends box set from Zavvi and had his ordered declined as they could not guarantee Christmas delivery.
